Ways to tackle and reduce violence against NHS staff
SPF report on preventing and reducing violence against NHS staff and recommendations to government on what more can be done.
This report outlines SPF activity carried out in response to a commission arising from the 2023 NHS pay deal to scope existing work on preventing and reducing violence against NHS staff. The report also makes recommendations to government on what more might be done.
The SPF worked closely with the NHS Staff Council and NHS England on this commission. We are grateful for their support, along with all who responded to our violence prevention and reduction survey in late 2023.
The report was finalised and submitted to government in October 2024 and the recommendations were accepted in April 2025.
