HPMA Awards 2018

The SPF sponsored HPMA partnership award recognises outstanding partnership working between employers and trade unions.

This year, the SPF partnership award went to Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust for their initiative implementation of a just and learning culture. Trust management and staff side colleagues worked in partnership to reduce the number of disciplinaries by creating an open and honest culture by asking what happened? instead of who is responsible? The approach enables staff to learn from mistakes and share best practice, and has led to a significant reduction in discplinary cases, as well as improvements in the trust's NHS staff survey results.
